These terms govern your use of Scientia's website and learning platform ("Scientia," "we," "us"). By creating an account or enrolling in a course, you agree to them. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
Scientia offers online tutoring in the Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences (Chemistry) for South African learners, including live online classes, recorded lessons, downloadable resources, a digital library, and direct messaging with your tutor.
Paid courses are processed through PayFast, a third-party South African payment gateway. Scientia does not see or store your card details — PayFast handles that directly. Access to paid course content is granted once PayFast confirms your payment. Refund requests are handled case by case; contact us via the Support page.
Live classes take place over a third-party meeting service (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet) linked from your dashboard — Scientia does not host the video call itself. Sessions may be recorded for enrolled students' later review. Recordings and materials are for your personal study use and may not be redistributed.
Don't share your login, redistribute paid course materials, or use the messaging/live class tools to harass or share inappropriate content. We may remove content or restrict access that violates this.
We may update these terms as the platform grows; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the update.
